60cm x 60cm

2004

Born in Jamaica in 1960, Anthony Daley moved to England in 1972. Since graduating with a masters degree in fine art / painting from Cheslea School of Art. In 1983, he has worked exlusively as a fine-artist and educator. Teaching on the postgraduate and undegraduate faculty at Chelsea and Slade Schools of Art amongst others.

Anthony Daley lives and works in London. His work is exhibited widely in museums and galleries nationally and internationaly. He is professionally represated by the Angela Flowers Gallery in the UK and USA.

Anthony Daley is a traditional painter, yet is a profoundly modern one. He works with colour in broad gestural painterly sweeps, which are interrupted with linear reminders of traces of places or things known or unknown. exploring the interactions between the materials, the physical act of painting itself, and the painter's instincts. Searching for the unexpected, the visually stunning, and ultimately, the beautiful.
