Cath Ferguson

Cath Ferguson is a painter based in London. She completed her Fine Art PhD at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2007, following an MA at Chelsea College of Art and Design and is currently lecturer in Fine Art at Leeds University and a visiting tutor at Chelsea College of Art and Design. Recent exhibitions include Material Matters, Gooden Gallery 2009, and solo shows at VineSpace, Gallery Trama, Madrid and John Holden Gallery, Manchester in 2007. She has curated a number of exhibitions, most recently Painting Unlimited at APT Gallery, London in 2007 and was on the selection panel for Salon08. In 2008 she presented research papers on the work of the German painter Thomas Scheibitz at the First International Deleuze Studies Conference, Cardiff University and at the English Research Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University. Previously, she has published articles on the work of Bernard Frize, Juan Usle and Tim Renshaw, most notably in Turps Banana (2). She has also completed a number of residencies including; The Belfast City Exchange at FlaxArt; Triangle, New York; Emma Lake, Canada.
