Tim Cousins
is an abstract painter working in APT studios. He references the
animal figure and the natural landscape as an aid to his picture
making. The location of Deptford has been a continual influence
on his work for nearly thirty years, since he first arrived in London
as a student at Ravensbourne College of Art. The process of making
his work involves both quick, gestural mark-making balanced by careful
and consdered adjustments to the image.
In addition
to his studio painting he regularly works in the open landscape
and initiated the work of the 'Sharing a View' group that has included
artists such as Denis Bowen, Cuillin Bantock and Germaine Dolan
over the previous eight years. The group continues to show work
in different parts of Britain on a yearly basis.
Tim continues
to work as a teacher/educator in the field of fine art.
