Aims & Objectives

APT was set up in 1995 by a group of artists to provide a home in South East London - in perpetuity.

Harold Works, on Creekside, was leased by the charity and a group of the founding artists converted the building (formerly a barge chandlery and then a light engineering company) into studio space for fine artists. APT currently has 37 secure and affordable studios which are fully let. When an artist joins APT they become a member of the charity and part of a creative community which supports their individual creative endeavour.

APT aims to:

- provide secure studio space in perpetuity in Creekside

- promote the value of creativity in the visual arts

- provide an accessible gallery space (free to visitors with low hire rates for exhibitors)

- run Open Studio events, to give visitors the opportunity to experience a working artistic community

- forge links with local, national and international individuals and groups to develop a diverse range of educational programmes
