GIFT is an annual exhibition held at APT at the end of each year to coincide with the Christmas season. It is an opportunity for APT artist members and their guests to showcase work from their archive or art that they have been working on throughout the year. This show has been running for many years now and is an opportunity for our community to come together to share in some Christmas Festivities, the way we know best; through art.
This year’s show unfortunately has been unable to go ahead physically due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, to ensure we can celebrate together despite social distancing, we will be uploading a virtual show to our website. This will allow people to interact with our artists’ work and maybe purchase a Christmas present for a loved one in the process!
Some of the artists will be promoting their work through the use of the Artist Support Pledge. This pledge is a ‘generous culture in support of artists and makers’ throughout these uncertain times. It was created by the artist Matthew Burrows and is ‘now a global movement of connected communities committed to an equitable and sustainable economy for artists and makers’. The Pledge uses Instagram, which allows artists to publicise images of their work for sale, in conjunction with the hashtag #artistsupportpledge.
If you are interested in learning more about any of these pieces or if you would like to purchase any of the works within GIFT, then please contact the office on aptlondon@btconnect.com
