PRIVACY POLICY

The Art in Perpetuity Trust (APT) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee and we own a studio complex in South East London. We provide 42 studios for visual artists; we run a contemporary art gallery; we deliver a wide range of educational arts projects; we run the biannual Creekside Open visual arts competition.

On 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into force and this Privacy Policy explains why and how we collect your personal data.

Why we collect your personal data  |  We collect your personal data for our mailing list and email list to inform you about our charitable activity including our exhibition programme and events in the APT Gallery; our fine art studios and any studio vacancies; the CREEKSIDE OPEN visual arts competition; our annual Open Studios and APT LIVE opportunities; exhibitions and events that our artist-members are involved in; and outreach programmes that A.P.T runs.  We will never share your information outside APT.

Lawful Basis    We are required under the GDPR to state what the lawful basis is for collecting your personal data and for our mailing lists and email distribution lists the lawful basis is Consent.    Consent is deemed to have been given if you have provided your name and email address in our Gallery Visitors Book, or you have phoned or emailed us, applied for a job, applied for an exhibition or opportunity, left us your business card, or you have signed up to receive our newsletter via our website.

Mailing House  |  We use a mailing house called MailChimp and they are GDPR compliant – please see their privacy policy and terms.

Every newsletter has an ‘unsubscribe’ link and to remove your data you can click on the link or you can email sarahwalsh@aptstudios.org and ask for your data to be deleted.

Website  |  We operate two websites:  www.aptstudios.org and www.creeksideopen.org

Data Retention  |  We will keep your details for as long as you wish to continue to receive our newsletters.

Your rights  |  You have the right to access, verify or update your personal information, and to have your personal information deleted from our database on request.

If you are not satisfied with the way we are processing your personal data, you can make a complaint to the information commissioner. For details of how to do this, and for more information about your data protection rights, please visit www.ico.org.uk.

We will deal with all subject access requests as quickly as possible, and no later than a calendar month after the request is made.
